Summer Course for Classical Singers

5-10 August 2019, London

A beautifully warm and supportive environment in which to explore, develop freedom and technique, and trust our intuition as artists.
— Elaine, Barefoot Opera Course, 2016

About the Course

With a maximum of 25 students, this unique course provides intensive tuition for each participant, from a close-knit team of highly skilled professional tutors who have worked together for the last fifteen years. In a supportive and friendly environment students will be introduced to Barefoot’s unmatched model of working with responsive breath, voice and movement, to help develop their skills as classical singers.

There will be a public performance of staged opera scenes at the end of the course, and at least two other workshop concert opportunities during the week. Suitable for aspiring or established professionals and those who may not sing professionally but have a dedicated and serious interest in developing as classical singers.

The course is non-residential and will take place at the Barefoot Studio and the Telegraph Hill centre. There is a café on site and a pleasant park across the road from the centre: the studio is 5 mins walk from Brockley cafes and eateries. Both environments are spacious, self contained and highly conducive to focused and creative work.
